Canadian Representatives at Miss World
It began in 1951 as a special prelude to
the Festival of Britain, and today, Miss World is one
of the most recognized brand names on the planet. From
Astrid to Agbani, from Antigone to Azra, from Aneta to
Aishwarya, Miss World is a major figure during her yearlong
reign, receiving international travel, incalculable exposure,
and the joyous opportunity to work with Beauty with
a Purpose.

CANADA TITLEHOLDERS
Miss World Canada 2003, Nazanin
Afshin-Jam was the first woman crowned by MWC
Inc. She brought awareness to the pageant by placing 1st
Runner-Up overall at the international Miss World pageant,
WINNER of the Miss Sport Fitness Competition. Nazanin
still lives by the “Beauty with a Purpose” motto and continues
to work with the Red Cross. An a advocate of women’s rights,
she has launched a crusade to save an Iranian teenager,
also named Nazanin, from the death penalty for defending
herself and her younger niece from a would be rapist.
This petition has gained over 150,000 international signatures
to date. She was featured on CNN, BBC and other international
media outlets, has been invited by Canadian Parliament,
and is going to the UN to present the petition, hoping
garner support to convince the Iranian Government to free
her namesake. She as raised global awareness about this
case, and the plight of women in general in Iran.
Miss World Canada 2004, Tijana
Arnautovic, was just barely 18 years old when
crowned, the youngest delegate at the pageant. She is
currently continuing her studies on a full University
scholarship in Ottawa, while continuing to work as a model.
Miss World Canada 2005, Ramona Amiri,
is currently awaiting acceptance to Medical School while
continuing work with her Children’s Foundation. She made
over 40 appearances across Canada during her reign, bringing
nationwide exposure to our event. She received international
attention when she placed among the top 12, among 106
delegates at the Miss World Contest in China. She was
also a top 5 swimsuit finalist, and a top 5 talent finalist,
WINNER of the Traditional dance category. Ramona continues
to work with our organization in support of Rock Solid
Foundation.
Miss World Canada 2006 Malgosia
Majewska, was also a top 17 Semi-Finalist at
the international level. She placed in the top 20 of the
swimsuit and talent competitions, and was the WINNER of
the Sport and Fitness Competition. Malgosia continues
to make public appearances as a supporter of anti-bullying
programs in Canada.

Sara Ghulam will be competing at Miss
World in October 2007.
